THE CHALLENGE

La Mer Collections’ core company value of ‘Inspired By The Color of Travel’ is what influenced its creative team to travel to the luxurious island of Salina, within the exclusive and difficult to reach Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily, and experience a true ‘adventure’ in capturing this season’s look book.

This Italian photoshoot’s creative direction captured the extraordinary beauty of Salina, and importantly highlighted La Mer's natural stone details, straps’ fresh neutral color pallet, and the newly developed delicate watch face designs.

Salina's rugged oceanside terrain topped with vineyards and local handmade tile manufacturers, was the ideal place for the season’s summer shoot. The creative team collaborated from across the world, as its photographer originated from South Africa, its stylist from Australia, and the Model and Hair/Make up team members both came from Italy.

Temescal Creative’s key responsibilities included the complex management of all team member’s schedules, including the coordination of preparation of each aspect of the daily project’s timeline to ensure everyone was operating at their highest capacity and all the while meeting the landscape’s perimeters of weather, light and temperature. This photoshoot’s storytelling quality brought a luxurious visual sense to the watches' design and to the brand at large. Once launched, this photoshoot opened up interest across the world for La Mer Collections to create new categories such as handbags and new retail collaborations to be pursued.
