Jewelry Design - Upcycled

La Lune

THE CHALLENGE

La Lune is an upcycled jewelry collection, whose focus is on manufacturing with high quality upcycled parts, such as semi-precious stones and diamond components, to in turn create beautiful new higher quality pieces.

The fashion industry creates 8-10% of global carbon emissions, due to the lengthy supply chains and energy intensive production methods. The biggest impact that the jewelry industry has on the environment is from greenhouse gas emissions generaged through mining, minerals, processing and manufacturing. With La Lune ‘the change’ comes from keeping existing jewelry components in use, and thus continuing their lifespan. Ultimately, La Lune rescues components from ending up in toxic landfills thus reducing carbon emissions.

Each design is slightly unique and made with care in the USA, along with its packaging solution only using recycled materials such as biodegradable papers.

Temescal’s principal designer, Martine Ilana, conceptualized this collection, sourced all of its raw materials, designed the packaging along with all digital assets.
