THE CHALLENGE

Capturing the natural elements of the sun, sand, beach and California Lifestyle, was the design intention for La Mer Collections’ Jakarta, Indonesia retail store. Factors such as the light colored, natural wood space was designed to give customers and those who walked past the store, a sense of the outdoors, yet located within a mall. Interior lighting mimicked La Mer Collections’ trio of turquoise blues, in turn reminding one of the oceans rich colors and soft up lighting across the entire store created a warm and calm space to shop for that unique gift.

Large scale patterned graphics were custom developed within each of the brand’s photoshoots and this patterning highlighted each product's display, so that incoming customers would be both interested in the interior design along with trying on each piece. The highly of this space was its 'custom watch bar’, where one could come and design their own unique piece of jewelry or watch on site.

This store was so innovative that it inspired 6 locations to open across the country in multiple retail venues and expanded the brand’s footprint within a new market and clientele, strictly impacted by this original retail store’s design.
